John Maltester has been the Director of Bands and Music Department Chair at Los Medanos College for 35 years. In that time he has developed one of the finest college music programs anywhere.
During John's tenure many talented musicians developed musical and interpersonal skills in the Music program at LMC. Many have gone on to rewarding careers as professional musicians and music educators.
This Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Regional Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek a concert band made up of alumni from the LMC Music program will present a free concert. The program will include works by Holst, Sousa, Ticheli, Vaughan Williams, and others. Please come enjoy the music, and help us celebrate the career of our friend and mentor.
